abdij van Maredret

Maredret Abbey, set in the hilly countryside south of Charleroi and Namur, was inaugurated in 1893 when seven Benedictine nuns took up residence. The abbey church was built between 1898 and 1907, and the community belongs to the Congregation of the Annunciation.
