Fort aan het Pampus

Fort Pampus is an artificial fortified island in the IJmeer, built in 1887 as part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam to guard the Pampus shipping channel. Accessible only by boat, the isolated island with its rugged fort walls is a favourite subject for waterside photographers.
