Fort Loncin

Fort Loncin, built in 1888 to General Brialmont's design, formed part of the ring of forts around Liège and was destroyed by a direct German hit in August 1914. Its ruins serve as a war grave for the soldiers who died there and were added to UNESCO's First World War heritage listing in 2023.
