Menenpoort

West Flanders· Monument
Description

The Menin Gate in Ypres is an imposing 1927 memorial, built by the British at the eastern edge of the town, inscribed with the names of over 54,000 missing soldiers from the First World War. Every evening the Last Post is sounded beneath the gate, making it a striking subject for photography after dark as well.
