Montelbaanstoren

The Montelbaanstoren on the Oudeschans canal in Amsterdam was built in 1516 as part of the city's defensive walls. Its ornate upper section, designed by Hendrick de Keyser, was added in 1606, bringing the tower to its current height of 48 metres.
