Reeuwijkse plassen

The Reeuwijkse Plassen are a chain of thirteen lakes between Bodegraven and Gouda, east of the village of Reeuwijk. Their rectangular shapes still trace the old peat-land field pattern from centuries of reclamation. Narrow lanes and reed banks weave between the water, creating an atmospheric, watery landscape.
