Sint-Bernardusabdij

Bornem Abbey was founded in 1603 by Pedro Coloma, lord of Bornem, as successor to the abbey of Hemiksem, which was destroyed during the French Revolution. Named after Bernard of Clairvaux, the former monastery has since been repurposed as a housing development.
