Zendstation Smilde

The transmission tower at Hoogersmilde stands 303 metres tall, making it the tallest structure in the northern Netherlands, and opened in 1960 for radio and television broadcasting. A fire destroyed its mast in 2011, and a new steel lattice mast was fitted atop the original concrete tower in 2012.
