Zimmertoren

Lier's Zimmertoren is a surviving medieval city tower, once part of the town's fourteenth-century fortifications. In 1930 clockmaker Louis Zimmer fitted it with an elaborate astronomical clockwork of twelve dials circling a central face. Now housing the Zimmer Museum, the tower forms a striking photogenic landmark above the old town centre.
