Kasteel Almere

Almere Castle is an unfinished building project in Almere Haven: construction began in 2000, stalled in 2002, and left behind a modern-day ruin along the Oude Waterlandseweg. Visible from the A6 motorway, it offers an unusual, photogenic contrast between ambition and decay.
