Kasteel van de graven van Herbeumont

The Castle of the Counts of Herbeumont is a ruined stronghold perched on a steep slate outcrop above the village of Herbeumont on the river Semois, in Luxembourg province. Built in 1268 and largely dismantled in 1657 on the orders of French king Louis XIV, its remains were restored in 2010 and have been a protected heritage site since 1938. The weathered walls set against the river valley make it a favorite subject for atmospheric ruin photography.
