Paard van Marken

— Description

The Marken lighthouse, popularly known as the Paard van Marken, was built in 1839 to a design by Jacob Valk on the eastern tip of the island. The light stands 16 metres high, has a range of 9 nautical miles, and has been a listed Rijksmonument since 1970.
