Roode Steen

The Roode Steen, also known as the Kaasmarkt, is the central square of Hoorn, marked by the 17th-century Statencollege building housing the Westfries Museum and by the Waag. The square is named after a stone once used for executions; the original now rests in the museum, while a replica stands on the square.
